"I have always been interested in arts and crafts. From the moment my grandmother sewed me my first dress to the times my mom would create an assembly line of cutting, gluing and glittering for her holiday crafts, I was hooked. It’s just in the genes. I have tried a lot of creative hobbies but nothing has intrigued me more than painting. A few years ago I was introduced to painting on silk. Up until then I was using watercolors, acrylics and painting ceramics. The silk will do what it needs to do and you have to give up some control which was hard for me at first. But now I just apply the paint and “let it cook” as I say. Sometimes I’m happy with the results and sometimes not so much but it’s all a learning experience. Being a mom to three young kids, I need this creative outlet and the kids are usually great at giving me a moment’s peace now and then to whip up a creation. They are even showing interest by painting scarves for their grandmother this year. I tell you – it’s in the genes. Scarves are a great, budget-friendly way to update last year’s outfit and breathe new life into your wardrobe. My silks are hand washable and travel easy too. A spark of color can do wonders for your eyes and face! And we all deserve to look our best don’t you think?"
